hi julmer, welcome to the forum.

you're asking some very good questions. but i don't know the answers. have you read cort johnson's blog? http://blog.aboutmecfs.org/
he pays attention to things like studies and i do recall some of his recent posts have been looking at and comparing and critiquing the recent studies. it might be worth checking it out and browsing back through some of the recent entries to see what he's had to say. perhaps that can help answer some of your questions.

i'm still struggling with the decision about taking the test or not. i spoke with vip dx recently and they told me that the test would say either "positive" or "none detected." nothing more, nothing less. that's all that's available at this time. i wish there was an antibody test now, since it would be just about impossible to get a false positive. but vip dx said that they don't know when it would be available.
